Pros[]

  • Yuyuko is a relatively simple character to play as and combo with.
  • Many moves have large hitboxes and high priority, allowing Yuyuko to safely strike from a distance.
  • Has Normal chains that reliably connect from nearly all distances, both while grounded and airborne.
  • Overall damage output is quite high, with most individual moves doing above average damage, and Yuyuko's combo strings being potentially devastating thanks to the unscaled DoT effect from Ghost Sign "Ageless Dream".
  • The character has solid mix-up options.
  • Possesses a good okizeme tool in Ghostly Butterfly, which has tracking properties.
  • Has an excellent match finisher when the opponent has around 200 or lower Life left in the Sakura Sign "Sense of Cherry Blossom" Last Word.

Cons[]

  • Movement in general is on the slower end of the character spectrum, with the character being unable to quickly cover significant distance with her dashes.
  • Possesses wider than average hurtboxes that are also quite tall when standing and airborne, which makes it more difficult for Yuyuko to evade opposing attacks.
  • Has an overall slow set of Normals, which can negatively impact the character's neutral game under certain conditions.
  • Yuyuko's keepaway game is heavily reliant on Lance of the Swallowtail Crest, as her other moves (particularly her Specials) are dependant on the opponent having already approached Yuyuko.
  • Constantly playing keepaway is the one scenario where Yuyuko's high damage output doesn't apply, forcing her to go for zoning with Normals if she wants to inflict meaningful damage.
  • Because Reverse Screens lacks range, Yuyuko often has to use the move at the very last moment to successfully reverse an opponent, increasing the move's risk factor.
  • Is somewhat susceptible to corner pressure owing to the aforementioned issues with her slow Normals and reversal Special.
  • Has a difficult time dealing with dedicated keepaway characters, as Yuyuko can neither win projectile wars against them nor approach them with a quick movement option.
